Liz’s Friday Indie Daze featuring Lush Lacquer

FRIDAY! IT’S FRIDAY! AND I HAVE PRETTY THINGS TO SHARE! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Alright, now that I got the last dregs of my morning coffee out of my system, let’s move on. Welcome to another installation of Liz’s Friday Indie Daze. For today’s post, I’ve pulled out two lovely polishes from Lush Lacquer. Hold on to your horses, lords and ladies, it’s time to look at swatches. (Oh. Yeah.)

First up is Lite Brite. Say it with me now… “True love.” I adore this polish more than I anticipated, this is one of those impulse purchases I made awhile ago, and it has sat in the back corner of my indie polish drawer. NO MORE! No one puts this baby in a corner!

While Lite Brite looks gorgeous over all different colors, I think that it really comes to life over black. Every single glitter particle stands out while still managing to be a cohesive polish. Tiny silver hexes mingle along with orange, blue, and red hexes in a clear base… and don’t forget the HUGE golden hexes. If that wasn’t enough, there are squares! Green and purple squares! Oh man, this is a stunning jewel-toned glitter polish.

For this manicure I used two coats of Lite Brite over Zoya‘s Raven. I will admit to fishing for the gold hexes, but it was worth it. A rainbow of glitters scattered across my nails… did I mention that I’m in love with this polish? I’ve already planned five other manicures to wear underneath Lite Brite in the time that it’s taken to type this paragraph!

For something a little different but just as colorful and awesome, feast your eyes on Clowning Around. Sheer neon hexes play together in pink, purple, orange, blue, yellow, and green in a clear base. Full of personality and perfect for the upcoming warmer weather, when I saw this in the Lush Lacquer Etsy store I knew that it had to be mine.

I feel like I need to apologize for a second, because I tried for ages and wasn’t able to capture how BRIGHT this bad girl is. Imagine that you have a set of highlighters and used them to decorate your mani. Even if I can’t get the colors 100% on the nose, these pictures are pretty damn close and I still wanted to share them because… SO PRETTY! Two thin coats of Clowning Around looks amazing over a base of Zoya’s Purity. There was no digging with this baby!
Up close, Clowning Around is very reminiscent of a work of art. The sheer neon glitters aren’t completely opaque, so in some places you can see completely through the glitter. Each piece has an interesting mottled look to it. So cool! I love how a white base brings Clowning Around to life, but the great thing about this polish, much like Lite Brite, is that it would look gorgeous over TONS of colors.
I am incredibly impressed by the polishes that the ladies at Lush Lacquer have produced – I am certain that I’ll be back in their Etsy store soon enough to pick out some new lovelies to add. If  Both Lite Brite and Clowning Around applied beautifully and managed to be completely smooth after a single layer of top coat. By far, the coolest thing about Lush Lacquer (IMHO) is that it’s a mother/daughter operation just like LOZLOSA! I love it! Mother/daughter teams rock! Check these ladies out, if your experience is anything like mine you will not be sorry!

Let me tell you, the second one is TEN times more majestic in real life. It’s one of those polishes that you need to see on your tips to really appreciate!

Thanks! These are the only Lush Lacquers that I own – do you have any recommendations for my next purchase (or two…)? 😉

I’ve literally got 11 babies tagged in my favorites from Lush Lacquer. Had to take advantage of the stores that had sales this weekend, or else I would have picked up about half of them – these two are included. Love the colors!
