First up, I decided to reach for one of my favorite glitter toppers. This beauty by The Hungry Asian is called Mumbling, and it is too fantastic for words. This particular mix of silver and gold glitters in a clear base takes my breath away every time that I wear it!
One coat of Mumbling over four coats of Butter London‘s Goop.com exclusive Bread And Butter Pudding provides enough bling for even the most fabulous of glitter lovers while still being sweet, understated and neutral. “Bling” and “understated neutral” may not always go together, but in this manicure they go hand in hand.
She Walks In Beauty is chock full of gold, pink and green shimmer with different sizes of rose pink glitter. I decided to layer three thin coats of this pretty polish on top of two coats of Sonia Kashuk’s Sugar Rush – the sheer pink polish did nothing to hide my visible nail line, but it lent a barely noticeable blush to my nails that really brought out the pink shimmer within She Walks In Beauty.
I love how this polish glows when it’s hit by the light. Once again I used Seche to protect the mani and smooth the glittery surface. This is another neutral look that I love, especially because despite the neutral palate, there is nothing remotely boring about this manicure! Eye catching, unique and incredibly flattering, I think that this is a great polish for all kinds of fancy occasions… you can bet that I will be wearing the heck out of this polish!
I couldn’t resist putting a blue polish into this wedding-inspired post! My engagement ring is blue, my dream wedding dress is blue, (the T.A.R.D.I.S. is blue… but that’s another story) and quite frankly, it’s my favorite color. For the gal who’s looking for her “something blue,” look no further than Cirque‘s Cape Liz!
Aside from having the best name ever, Cape Liz is a gorgeous polish. A light blue cream base, filled to the brim with shimmer that shines blue, purple and silver… this is an amazing polish. To take the manicure up a notch, I painted one coat of Cover Band‘s hilariously named Love, Lace ‘n Lawsuits onto my ring finger. I think that the two polishes really complement each other well!
Cape Liz paired with Love Lace ‘n Lawsuits is a match made in heaven, and this is a manicure that I would wear to my own wedding. While not the blingiest manicure known to man, I find myself deeply in love. One coat of Seche really smoothed out my accent nail while bringing a high shine finish to the rest of the mani. In one word – AWESOME!
When you think about wedding nails, do you consider indie polishes? What kinds of polishes do you look for? Glitters? Creams? Do you go bold and bright, or do you favor neutral nails? For a couple of other indie polishes that I would consider wearing to a wedding, check out our past posts on Three Little Words and Eggnogoholic!
Personally, I’m set to attend two weddings this year and eventually I’ll have to get around to planning mine (eep!), so I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject! 🙂
