C&C LH05 – Swatches, Review, and Bling

Lisa says…

In obsessed lacquer circles (of the sort I run in), the indie polish maker Chaos and Crocodiles is known for crafting crazy-gorgeous hand-mixed jewel-like glitter polishes.

What’s less well known is that the brand periodically pumps out a limited edition linear holographic.

Since 2011, Chaos and Crocodiles has issued five such holos, the most recent one being LH05, which I miraculously (a veritable Bernadette of Lourdes moment, I tell you) managed to grab.  Within minutes of its release.  Oh, yeah.  Seriously.

Here’s what I snagged…

LH05 is a navy blue linear that flashes all manner of special in holographic fields of teal, gold, and bronze.  I think it’s lovely.

The formula required two easy coats for full opacity, and dried to a colorfully intense flawless finish.  FYI:  It’s been raining on and off all weekend in the Hudson River Valley, so outdoor holo-friendly pix were not in the cards.  These photographs (admittedly holo-unfriendly) were taken indoors. Fortunately, C&C has some sunny shots to be checked out.

Ordinarily, I apply a glossy top coat on my manis, but with holo products, especially linear ones, I’ve learned to temper my enthusiasm for shine.  Some say that top coat diminishes the holographic effect of linear lacquers.  I think they’re right.  Can’t have that.

But we CAN have bling (BornPrettyStore and Ebay), which requires zero cooperation from Mother Nature.  And makes me unreasonably happy.

Happiness is to be encouraged, don’t you think?
Let’s do that again…

Naturally, with this being a one-shot, sold-out, limited edition, LH05 is not to be found anywhere in the galaxy we call home.  I know.  It sucks.  It more than sucks.  But listen up…

LH06 is just around the corner.  Get on their contact list, and when we get early bird notification, we can go camp out on C&C’s Internet doorstep, roasting virtual marshmallows and gossiping about Miley Cyrus. You game?

Great.  Let’s plan on it.

FYI:  Chaos and Crocodiles recently took its show on the international road.   Their happy-making products are now available at Norway Nails and Mei Mei’s Signatures.  The main C&C store is here.
Time’s up and I’ve gotta run.  If you want notification of C&C’s upcoming releases, here’s a list of their various contact points…

So sorry, sweetie. I’ve revised the text above to include the related info. I picked the bling up from various sources on Ebay, and the BornPrettyStore. Check the new links in the text for hyperlinks.<3
