Icicles On My Nails?! Sold!

Liz says…

Hello, darlings! Today I’ve got a short yet ever so sweet manicure to share with you. Inspired by the icicles outside my window I decided to try my hand at waterfall nail art – while this manicure is in no means perfect it was a lot of fun to attempt and I look forward to trying it again with all sorts of different colors!

Over three thin coats of Essie’s Maximillian Strasse-her I used a striping brush to alternate downward strokes of Recycle by China Glaze and Harp On It from the Color Club Halo Hues collection. While I’ve seen this technique called “waterfall” nail art before, due to the time of year over here and the inspiration I’m thinking that this is more of an icicle manicure. 😉

What do you think of this icy look? Is this something you would wear in the Winter, or do you find it to be a little too literal? ALSO, have you tried the waterfall technique? If so, what are your favorite colors to use? I am craving inspiration!!! 😀

These are so cute! Simple yet effective, I half thought they were a holo when I first glanced at your photos.

Thanks, Renu! It was a lot of fun, and a super fast technique – I’ll be playing with it MUCH more in the future. 😀

This looks so pretty! I *think* even I might be able to do this nail art. I’ve never tried the waterfall technique, but I love the look!
